Desktop Authority® Asset Inspector
Desktop Authority Asset Inspector is a powerful, but easy-to-use add-on to Desktop Authority 7.6 and higher. It makes it easy to leverage the software inventory information in the Desktop Authority database to categorize software applications, enter licensing information and track license compliance.
Using traditional software inventory reporting to track licenses can be a complicated and manually intensive task. Windows can report slight differences in version numbers, like 7.13 and 7.14, as completely different applications. Additionally, application suites can report as a suite, or as a collection of applications. Also, software inventory doesn’t provide a way to store purchase and license information. So administrators need to run reports, compile the different data by hand, and compare it to license and purchase data that might exist in several different locations.
Desktop Authority Asset Inspector eliminates those hassles. Through its web-based, point-and-click interface, administrators can categorize, compile and track license information from the software inventory data they’re already collecting for Desktop Authority. Asset Inspector makes it easy to categorize applications, enter purchase and license information (including storing license files), set compliance levels and track license compliance.
Asset Inspector can even be configured with its own user database, allowing Desktop Authority administrators to grant access to software license information to users who should not have access to the Desktop Authority console.
Best of all, Asset Inspector is completely free for all users of Desktop Authority 7.6 and higher!
