Custom Script: C1039

Overview:

This custom script will demonstrate a method of preventing a user from logging on, provided certain conditions are not met. In this example, we will verify that a UNC, mapped drive and a specific server-based application are accessible. If one or more of these items are not accessible, the user will be logged off before their desktop is presented.

For example: A specific departmental server is offline. Rather than letting users in that department logon and overload the the help desk with calls when they are unable to access a database, they can be presented with a message box notifying them that the server is offline and logged off.
