Feature Details
(Displayed when clicking on an existing feature in the Project Organization section of the IQViews or when creating a new feature)
Generally when packaging for a networked environment there will only be one feature and it will always be installed. Therefore it is not necessary to modify any of these properties.
When installing an installation manually the option is often available to select which features to install and how to install them. Many of these properties relate to these dialog which is referred to as the CustomizeDlg.
Name: This is the key name of the feature and therefore should be unique.Title: The name of the feature as it will be display in the CustomizeDlg during the UI sequence of the installation. When packaging for a networked environment the UI sequence is not displayed therefore this is not important.
Parent Feature: Here you can select the parent feature if it is a sub feature.
Description: In the CustomizeDlg you can display a description for the feature.
Display: Specify how it is initially displayed in the CustomizeDlg.
Level: This is the initial level of the feature and how it will initially be installed.
Attributes: Further options on how to install the feature.
Advertising: Whether to allow or favour advertising for the feature.
Directory: You can allow features to be installed into different directories, and if so then here you can specify the default directory for this feature.
