Overview of IQViews Treeview
The control panel on the left hand side is divided into 5 sections:
- Project Details
- Project Organization
- Files And Registry
- Shortcuts and Other Items
- Dialogs And Actions
Project Details
Contains properties about the package.
Project Organization
This section of the IQView displays the package broken up into individual components and features. You can:
- View individual entities within a component/feature (i.e. files in a component) by expanding out the components/features.
- Move entities between components/features. This can be done by drag and drop.
- Move components between features. This can be done by drag and drop.
- Add new or modify existing components/features. To add new components/features use the context menu of the top level component/feature item.
Files And Registry
The files and registry section has a panel for files, registry entries, merge modules and permissions. The panels allow easy modification of these items in the package.
Shortcuts and Other Items
This section behaves much like the Project organization. By expanding out each top node you can view details of the items.
- Items can be added or deleted using the context menu for the item
- Items can be dragged to components and features.
- Items can be moved to different components using the context menu.
Dialogs and Actions
This section contains a tree structure of all the dialogs in the package as well as custom actions and the sequence.
- Click on a dialog to bring up the dialog editor.
- Use context menus to create new dialogs and custom actions.
- Drag dialogs to change the main installation sequence.
